The laboratory department strives to provide excellent customer service in a professional and friendly environment to provide accurate results in a timely and cost effective manner. Laboratory services are for registered patients only.
Laboratory services are provided under the provisions of Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and the Texas Department of Health. Furthermore, the laboratory is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), which works to improve the safety and quality of care organizations provide to their patients.
The laboratory staff is comprised of a laboratory director, a laboratory manager, laboratory technicians and laboratory assistants. The laboratory performs basic routine laboratory tests that are required for patient treatment. Tests not performed on-site are referred to a qualified accredited laboratories such as Laboratory Corporation of America, University Medical Center, Del Sol Medical Center, Quest Diagnostics and Texas Department of Health.
The time required for results varies depending on tests being ordered, from 3 to 10 days. Where possible, tests will be ordered by your medical provider 1 - 2 weeks prior to the appointment. The medical provider will then discuss results with patient during their next appointment. If your results are needed in advance or need to be faxed to another medical provider, please call the medical records department at ext.1222 to expedite the process. The laboratory department is not authorized to release/fax results.
